Supporting Acacia Family Support
St Peter’s Lodge 7334 – Support Acacia Family Support Pre and postnatal depression support services
Acacia is an award winning Christian charity which was founded in 2004 by two local mums who both experienced postnatal depression and were determined to help other families. They have been supporting families ever since and their services are free and are available to mums and dads in the Birmingham area who are experiencing pre and postnatal depression and anxiety.
Acacia was chosen as the Worshipful Master of St Peters Lodge, W Bro Ian French’s chosen charity as he had seen some of the excellent work they undertake in an area that is rarely acknowledged. The money was raised in a number of ways throughout the year from cycle rides to swimming the channel and the lodge Burns Night. Unfortunately some of the activities have been restricted due to the events of the last 12 months.
Bill Daykin the Almoner for St Peter’s Lodge No.7334 presenting a cheque for £2140 to Kate Davarzadeh – Community Fundraiser for Acacia Family Support.
Kate advised that the last year has been very difficult for mothers and families as the support has been difficult due to the Covid guidelines and they are expecting far higher demand in the next 12 months due to the isolation many mothers and families have experienced.
