Support for the Royal British Legion

It has been a challenging couple of years for every charity and the Royal British Legion is no exception, and we now have the opportunity to help. Warwickshire Freemasons have been asked to provide volunteers to assist with collection points in the following supermarkets across the Province and the Provincial Grand Master is keen to support such a worthwhile cause:

The Poppy Appeal 2021 runs over the period Thursday 28 October through to Saturday 13 November and we are looking to man the Collection Stands for as many hours as possible, especially at weekends and evenings. You will liaise closely with a Community Fundraiser from the Royal British Legion, who will coordinate the stock and the volunteer sessions and I have been asked to act as a liaison between the Province and the Royal British Legion. The Provincial Grand Master has suggested the regalia would be inappropriate, but wearing the Provincial Tie would be encouraged.
If you are able to help in any way then please email roydixon1@mac.com letting him know your preferred location(s) and he will provide you with:
Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Collector Registration Form - must be completed for every volunteer
Masonic Brief for Supermarket Collections
Poppy Appeal Organiser Handbook
Contact Details for the Community Fundraiser for that supermarket
Our Provincial website reminds us that “Kindness and charitable giving are deeply ingrained within the principles of Freemasonry” and supporting the Royal British Legion is a great opportunity to practice this principle. Please spread the word and let’s maximise our support for the Royal British Legion.
