Lodge of Loyalty helping a student in need
On January 12th, prior to a regular zoom meeting W Bro Martyn Joseph messaged the brethren via the Lodge WhatsApp group,
"Dear Brethren. Hope you are alll well and hope to see you later on Zoom. I am appealing to you all for some help for a very deserving case.I will explain more later but the bottom line is a 15 year old has no access to learning because his laptop broke. The School has none and the parents in no way can afford to obtain one. We have known and helped this family for many years and a real genuine case. Has anyone got a LAPTOP that is surplus to requirements that is Microsoft compliant I am prepared to collect and deliver it. See you all later”
As all our unwanted laptops had over the period of the pandemic, been previously donated to several charities, we raised the the necessary funds to purchase a new one through a charity appeal
On January 14th, W Bro Joseph was back in touch,
"Delivered the laptop today. Few tears of joy from the mother. Copied below is short message sent to me and a photo. Many thanks to all who have helped purchase it. Even in these difficult times we should always hope to be able to give rather than receive"

"Thank you so so much for sorting out this laptop for Noah, I’m blown away by it all. He is absolutely delighted and I’m helping him set it up now! He actually shed a little tear quietly and I heard him whispering to himself about being able to catch up at school 🥰 Love you guys so much I can’t thank you or the charity enough for all of your help"
