Lodge of Faith & Hope meets again at Yenton Masonic Centre
Six members of The Lodge of Faith & Hope No 4772 met in person for the first time since February 2020, at the Yenton Masonic Centre, Erdington, Birmingham. This is the first Lodge meeting at the Yenton Centre since the current lockdown commenced at the end of 2020.
In normal times, the Lodge does not meet in May, but by using the Book of Constitutions Rule 139(c), the meeting was moved by four weeks to Tuesday 25th May. The meeting was held observing the ‘Rule of Six’ conditions, for several reasons. First to proclaim our Worshipful Master, W Bro Fred Ditchfield to continue until our Installation in January 2022. Secondly, to invest a newly appointed Senior Warden, W Bro Bryan Eden. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, two new Candidates were proposed, and if all goes well during the summer period, the members will have proper opportunities to meet and get to know the Candidates. If successful, having completed all formalities, the Lodge should have the opportunity to initiate the new Candidates at our meetings in the Autumn.
The meeting went well with the members pictured prior to the opening, thanks to the photographic skills of W Bro John Davis, well known at the Yenton Centre and elsewhere, who although unable to be present at the meeting, acted in addition as our Tyler.

Pictured are the Worshipful Master, W Bro Fred Ditchfield PProvJGW, Senior Warden, W Bro Bryan Eden PProvGSwdB, Junior Warden, W Bro Martin Walsh PProvGSwdB, Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Jason Spittle PProvJGD, Inner Guard, Bro Rishi Thakrar and Secretary - W Bro John Hayward PSGD.
Our thanks are extended to the Yenton Management Team for ensuring it was safe for us to return and for the improvements which have been made to the Centre during the past year. To W Bro John Davis for his valuable assistance, and to our Worshipful Master for providing some light refreshments. Thanks also to our other members who would have been with us if it had been permissible.
Although still with restrictions, it really is good to be back!
