Rugby Lodges adding to the support for Hope4Rugby

The Masonic Lodges in Rugby were inspired by the community support provided by both Knowle Masonic Centre for their local charities and the Masonic Charitable Foundation for Hope4Rugby.

The Directors of the Rugby Masonic Centre agreed to provide help locally by supporting Hope4 in Rugby who run the Rugby Foodbank and provide shelter and support for homeless persons. A Past Master of Composite Lodge No 5727, W Bro Chris Addison works at Hope4 as a volunteer some three days a week, Composite Lodge has supported Hope4 in previous years.

A call to Rugby Secretaries on 7 Dec 2020, asking for donations for Hope4. The Arnold House was open from 10.00am until 2.00pm on Saturday 12 December for drop off of items.

Stephen Healey, John Partridge and Tony Cheeseman supported by the Caretaker, Chris Hallam, donned masks and opened the main double doors from the bar onto the car park. The response was very good with most Lodges supporting the call. The resulting collection is seen in the photographs below. One donation, from Dunsmore Lodge No 6442, was for 24 gift boxes, this hopefully cheered up 24 family Christmases! The items were delivered to Hope4 on Monday 14th December for them to use as they wished.

A monetary collection was also made, currently standing at £250 which is to be donated to Rugby Myton Hospice. Composite Lodge also held a Zoom Christmas quiz and raffle on 22 December and raised a further £300 for Myton Hospice.
